Description

This map visualizes the nature in which Health Services have emerged and spread themselves across the Nairobi County. Some noticeable trends emerge including the high distribution of Private clinics in Nairobi area bring one to question are public health facilities lacking in the area? How can this pattern inform policy and implementation of health services in the county.

The grouping of the data follows nine classes including; District/Mission Hospitals, Referral and Provincial Hospitals, Health Centers, Dispensary, Private Hospital, Private Clinics, Maternity Hospitals and Nursing Home, Special treatment centers and finally Institutional based Health Centers (for example University, Airport and Port Authorities, Ministries or Armed Forces Hospitals. The patterns of distributions of a certain kind of facility is work noting as it is possible to visually see areas where private sector health care is dominating the provision of health service in comparison the public health services in the same area.
